Southern Europe unsettled; France very warm, then rain arriving
Low pressure centred west of Iberia, brings gusty winds, frequent rain and thundery showers for Portugal, plus the south and west of Spain. Warm in central and eastern Spain, but the risk of a few heavy showers triggering off by afternoon. A scattering of thundery showers for Italy, and there will be isolated showers for the islands of Corsica and Sardinia. Thundery too for the Balkan states and mainland Greece, although the Greek islands will mostly just see well scattered showers and sunny spells. A few thundery bursts of rain for Turkey and Cyprus, but feeling warm. Warm sunshine, locally very hot in France with a southerly breeze. A few showers for Switzerland and Austria. A little patchy rain for Germany, but plenty of dry weather. Partly cloudy for Denmark, and the risk of a shower in Belgium and the Netherlands. High pressure centred over Scandinavia brings dry and sunny conditions to Norway, Sweden and Finland. Fair weather extends into Poland and the Baltic States.
Low pressure continues to bring unsettled conditions to Spain and Portugal, with spells of heavy rain and thunderstorms. Thundery rain may rumble across the Pyrenees into southern France during the early hours of Wednesday. A belt of locally very heavy rain is then expected to move erratically and slowly north-eastwards across France. Ahead of the rain, temperatures will again be very warm, and eastern France should see hazy sunshine. A scattering of thundery showers for Italy, Switzerland and Austria, plus the Balkan states. The Balearics, Corsica and Sardinia should stay dry. Turkey and Greece are also unsettled, with slow moving areas of thundery rain. Germany, the Czech Republic and Poland are pleasantly warm, with sunny spells and rare showers. High pressure continues to dominate northern and north-eastern Europe, bringing fine and dry weather to Scandinavia. The far north of Norway may see a little showery rain. A fresh easterly breeze for Denmark.
