Warm and dry throughout the Mediterranean
A very warm day to come across much of Europe. Expect heavy outbreaks of rain across England today with showers forecast across northern France. Rain will also affect Belgium, Holland and southern parts of Sweden. Showers will be found in the far north of Germany, otherwise a fair, dry and very warm day to come. For Portugal and Spain it stays hot and this may trigger some heavy afternoon showers with a risk of thunder. For southern France and across Poland, the Adriatic Region, the Balkans, the Ukraine into southern Russia it will remain summery, very warm and dry. A number of showers are likely across Norway, Finland and northern Russia with rain reaching the Baltic States late in the day. Very summery weather extends across the Balearics eastward into Italy, Greece and Turkey. Gusty winds down the Aegean Sea will lessen through the day.
Cooler across northern parts of Europe today with the hottest temperatures across Iberia, Poland and south eastern parts of Europe and the Mediterranean. A wet day with outbreaks of moderate heavy rain across Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Germany and the southern half of France. Showers are expected across Britain and across Belgium and Holland where some will be heavy. Much of eastern Europe from Poland into the Baltic States, Russia, the Adriatic Region and the Balkans will be fine and dry with sunny spells. Lots of warm sunshine too for Turkey and Italy. A few heavy showers may be found around the Balearics with some as well across north eastern Spain. Most of Spain and Portugal will remain very warm and dry. Cyclonic gales will affect the North Sea.
