Fair weather extends across north-western Europe

An easterly wind brings continued high temperatures to south-western Spain and Portugal, likely topping 30C. Risk isolated thunderstorms around Gibraltar Strait, but most of Iberia is likely to be dry. Low pressure over south-eastern Europe brings areas of heavy rain and thunder to southern Italy, the Balkans, Greece & Turkey.

A cold front stretches from Norway to Germany, advancing slowly eastwards, bringing some heavy bursts of rain. Rain will clear from Denmark, then spreads to south Sweden, although should gradually fade. Warm across eastern Europe, highs 20C, but some thundery rain for Poland and the Baltic states. Dry and mild in Finland and northern Sweden, highs 16C.

High pressure extends across central-northern Europe, whilst low pressure is to the south-east. Another very warm day for Spain and Portugal, widely 25 to 30C. Risk of thunderstorms toward the south-west of Iberia, but most of the region stays dry. A brisk easterly breeze for central France and the Alps. Dry with plenty of sunshine across France, the Low Countries and Germany. Fair weather also extends across Scandinavia.
Northern Italy is dry and warm, but scattered thunderstorms may break out in southern Italy. Thundery rain will be widespread across south-eastern Europe, affecting mainland Greece, the Balkans and areas around the Black Sea, extending to Austria, Hungary and central-eastern Poland. The Greek Islands should remain largely dry, although Cyprus has a risk of thunderstorms.
