Fair and hot Mediterranean but showers and thunderstorms in western Europe


Tuesday
Much of Europe will be very warm to hot. For Spain, Portugal and areas eastward through the Balearics into Greece and Turkey it's a fine, summer's day with lots of very warm sunshine to come. Lots of sunshine as well for the Balkans, The Adriatic Region and the Ukraine. Heavy showers with thunderstorms are forecast across The Alps, southern parts of Germany into Austria.
A dry day is expected for northern Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Denmark, Sweden and Poland. Lots of showers, some heavy with thunder will affect The Baltic States, northern Russia and Finland. Apart from a few showers in the west, expect a dry day across Norway.


Wednesday
A few showers over northwest Spain today. Most of Iberia will be dry with good spells of sunshine though. Further sunshine and warm weather in the Balearics as well as across Italy and Sicily. Greece stays hot as does Turkey with plenty of sunshine throughout.
Showers in central and western parts of France. The Low Countries will have some thundery showers and these thunderstorms may affect southern Germany too. Northern Germany should be dry with sunny spells. Poland will be dry with good spells of sunshine and it should be dry in Austria and Hungary although some showers affect Switzerland.
Denmark is going to be dry with more sunshine to come here throughout the day. Further sunshine in Norway and dry too. It should be dry across Sweden and fair too. Scattered showers across the Baltic States with heavier showers in Finland where it will be cool too.
