Low pressure brings an unsettled weekend to much of western Europe


Saturday
Rain affecting far northern portions of Spain and Portugal on Saturday otherwise a dry and bright day for Iberia as well as the Balearic Islands. Outbreaks of rain, these often heavy, for Corsica, Sardinia and northern and central parts of Italy. Dry to the south and for Sicily though there will be some cloud here. Heavy rain also affects the western Balkans later but it will stay dry and sunny for Greece and Turkey.
Breezy with frequent outbreaks of rain for France, the Low Countries and Germany. A band of heavy rain spreads east through Switzerland, Austria and the Czech Republic though drier, brighter conditions follow from the west. Breezy but mostly dry for Hungary, Slovakia and Poland though rain arrives to the west through the evening.
Increasingly breezy and cloudy for Denmark as well as southern parts of Norway and Sweden where there will be occasional showers. Breezy too for the Baltic States where a band of showery rain spreads north through the day. Staying dry for Finland with variable amounts of cloud. Increasingly breezy here too.

Sunday
Cloud builds from the northwest across Portugal and Spain on Sunday with patchy outbreaks of rain for northwestern areas. Mostly bright but with scattered showers for the Balearic Islands, Corsica, Sardinia and northern Italy. These showers may become heavier over Italy later. Staying dry and fine for southern Italy, Sicily, Greece and much of Turkey.
Breezy again with outbreaks of rain for France, the Low Countries and Germany. Heavy rainfall over the Swiss and Austrian Alps. Drier and brighter for eastern Austria. A band of heavy rain sweeps through Poland and the Czech Republic and is followed by drier, brighter conditions. Mostly dry and bright too for Slovakia and Hungary though some rain may edge into the far southeast.
Another breezy day for northern parts of Europe. A band of heavy rain spreads from northern Denmark into southern and central parts of Norway and Sweden on Sunday. Staying drier further north. Outbreaks of rain also affect the Baltic States, though perhaps staying drier for Lithuania. Dry but cloudy for Finland.
