Cold northerly winds developing

Saturday
Fair weather across western Europe, with high pressure centred around Biscay. A dry easterly flow across Iberia will promote very warm temperatures in the south-west of Spain and Portugal, up to 30C. Nearer 20 to 23C in eastern Spain, or cooler on the Biscay coast. A pleasant day for France, although breezy in the south with a brisk Mistral wind. Dry and sunny for Italy and the Balkans. A few showers for Greece .
Windy for northern-central Europe, and feeling chilly. Showery for Denmark and northern Germany. Persistent rain sweeps east across Poland. Showers for the Czech Republic and Slovakia, but the Alps and Hungary should be dry. A band of rain affects much of the Baltic region, and may turn to snow on its leading edge for Finland. Showery around the west of Norway, but central Norway & Sweden should escape with a dry and bright day, highs 8 to 11C.

Sunday
High pressure influences western Europe, whilst low pressure lies across the east, resulting in a strong and cold northerly flow into central countries. Sunny and warm for Spain and Portugal, into the upper 20s Celsius again in the south-west.
Windy for the Alps, and a strong Mistral wind again for southern France. Patchy rain for central France, but dry toward the north and also the Low Countries. Northern Italy is likely to be very warm, locally 25C to the lee of the mountains. Mainly fair across the Mediterranean, with isolated showers. Dry and sunny in Greece.
A cold front moves into central & eastern Europe, bringing showery rain, and snowfalls to the Alps and Carpathian Mountains. Windy and cold for Germany, Poland and much of Scandinavia, risk of gales. Possible snow to quite low elevations in Poland. Snow showers for northern Norway. Largely dry for Sweden, but unsettled around the Baltic.
