Wet and unsettled central and southern areas
Colder and drier in the east

Issued: 0530hrs Wednesday 8th November 2017
Duty forecaster: Matthew Hugo

Remaining unsettled through central and southern areas, colder and drier in the east

Wednesday
Cool and showery across parts of Spain and Portugal, perhaps with some cold nights too. Unsettled weather does, however, dominate across many central and southern areas of Europe, with some heavy rain, showers and local storms affecting Italy, along with some significant snowfall across the Alps. More northern and eastern areas of Europe, especially parts of Finland, Poland and also into some far western areas of Russia, will be drier, colder and sunnier as high pressure remains influential.

Thursday
Cool and showery weather is set to continue across much of Iberia, including Spain and Portugal where some further cold nights are possible. More central and eastern areas of Europe will become drier after the unsettled weather of Wednesday, this particularly noticeable through central Europe where a mainly dry day is likely with some sunshine too.
Denmark and up into parts of Scandinavia will be more unsettled, as low pressure arrives bringing wet and windy conditions along with Sweden too, but some significant snowfall totals are possible across the Scandinavia mountains through the day.
